VACA FISH was formed in 1971 to assist those less fortunate. It continues today in the same fashion with the assistance of a core group of volunteers, a dedicated Board of Directors and support from individuals, the community at large and the City of Vacaville. Volunteers 18 years of age and older are welcome!

VACA FISH provides food for families who:

• Are residents of Vacaville, Allendale and Elmira.
• Meet VACA FISH low income requirements.
• Have not received food from VACA FISH for at least 30 days.
• Can present picture identification when picking up food.
• Do not receive food from another organization on the same day.

VACA FISH furnishes enough food to feed the family for three days, or nine meals.
At Thanksgiving VACA FISH distributes baskets of food on the Saturday preceding this holiday.

Our Mission: To operate as a non-profit food bank where residents can volunteer time, money or food to eliminate hunger in the cities of Vacaville, Elmira and Allendale, by providing food free of charge to needy adults and children.

Our fellow residents who struggle with putting food on their daily table, need assistance year-

round, not just during the holidays. That’s just what numerous local scouts and their leaders

provided recently, in delivering much-needed food supplies to the Vaca F.I.S.H. Food Pantry. It

was inspiring to see so many dedicated young men and women, along with their leaders,

eagerly hauling in numerous bags of food to our local food pantry. We at F.I.S.H. want to

sincerely thank the following scouts for their generous support: Packs #191 and #484 and

Troops #70, #72, #191, #484 and #852. Our food pantry’s staff is 100% local volunteers, who are

glad to have been feeding the hungry in Vacaville, Elmira and Allendale since 1971. Those who

know of residents in these three local areas who need food assistance are encouraged to call

F.I.S.H. at 707-447-5482, email at vacafishfoodhelp@outlook.com, by mail, or in-person at 40

Eldridge Avenue #9, Vacaville, 95688 (in the Vacaville Social Services complex,) or visit our

website at www.vacafish.org. Those who would like to support F.I.S.H. may also: donate money

(we are a 501c(3) tax exemption organization,) donate food, or become a volunteer yourself!

Our office hours are Tuesdays-Fridays from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Thanks again to our local scouts,

their leaders, and the community members who supported their food drive efforts!
